Event Childcare Associate

The main role of this position is the care and nurture of children ages 0 through elementary age during special church classes and events during the week and occasionally on weekends. This role is part-time working up to 14 hours/week and has non-traditional working hours which are scheduled as needed and does not guarantee a number of hours or length of employment. This position will report directly to the Event Childcare Coordinator.

The Event Childcare Associate is expected to continue volunteering in their active serving area. This role is not intended to take away from an individual’s serving the Lord with their time, talent and treasure.

Duties include but are not limited to:

    • Actively connect and develop good relationship with the families (new and current families)
    • Manage availability in PCO Services and respond in a timely manner to accept serving and working shifts
    • Track time and hours worked, checking in and checking out from shifts
    • Communicate the vision and mission of Kid’s ministry to parents
    • Participate in meetings about special events/classes as needed for childcare
    • Ensure the quality of excellence is upheld at childcare event/class
    • Ensure all cleaning and classroom resets are done before the end of each childcare shift
    • Help create an atmosphere where children will feel this is “the best part of their week”
    • Adhere to and maintain proper safety protocols outlined in the Kid’s Ministry Policies & Procedures In conjunction with Ministry Safe

Knowledge/Skills Required:

The Learning Center at Covenant Church has immediate openings for part-time and full-time Teachers

The Learning Center Teachers bring warmth, patience, and understanding to the classroom every day, encouraging children to learn and grow. They inspire children to be life-long learners using our recognized curriculum that promotes social, physical, verbal and cognitive development. Teachers should be committed to making meaningful relationships with children, families and their team.

This is a summary therefore the individual may perform other related tasks as required. 

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Have strong working knowledge of Texas Minimum Standards as they pertain to center operations
  • Implement Abeka and Frog Street Curriculum in a way that is consistent with the unique needs of each child
  • Teach lessons in an upbeat, positive, and encouraging manner
  • Implement program schedule for the classroom, outdoor time, meals, snacks, and special activities
  • Keep accurate and current records of each child’s developmental milestones, student accidents, and attendance
  • Plans formal and informal parent conferences with Director’s guidance
  • Ensures daily list of activities is posted for parents & provides them with daily written communication
  • Maintains classroom bulletin boards
  • Observes, records and reports to director any significant behavior of children or staff that could adversely affect the quality of care provided
  • Create a safe, nurturing environment where children can play and learn and express themselves verbally, mentally, and physically
  • Support the Center’s success; partner with center staff and leadership to achieve goals around enrollment, accreditation, and engagement
  • Cultivate positive relationships with families, teachers, State Licensing authorities
  • Keep order in the classroom and maintain safety & security
  • Teach basic skills such as social skills, personal hygiene, number &letter recognition, shapes, colors
  • Help children explore and try things out by using imaginative play and learning activities
  • Establish rules and procedures that enforce good behavior and order in the classroom
  • Flexible in the position and cross trained in all areas

Knowledge/Skills Required: 

  • A bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Associates degree in Early Childhood Education, or a CDA is required
  • CPR and First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain
  • Must meet state specific guidelines and keep up to date
  • Maintain at least 24 hours of training each year
  • Ability to interact, communicate & build relationships with families and coworkers and create a dynamic environment where play and learning happens
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Strong organizational skills, and the ability to multi- task and manage multiple situations effectively
  • Must be physically able to use a computer with basic proficiency
  • Must be able to effectively interact and communicate with children and parents
  • Proficient writing and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle stress and perform well under pressure

Front Office Coordinator / Bookstore Lead (Care Team Member)

 

The Front Office Coordinator is a core member of the Care Team and serves as the primary front-facing presence for the church. This role creates a welcoming, attentive, and compassionate environment for guests, members, and staff while supporting daily communication and care needs. In addition, the Front Office Coordinator also serves as the Bookstore Lead, providing daily oversight of the bookstore’s open-for-business execution. Creative merchandising and visual design are managed by another role; however, this position ensures the bookstore operates smoothly, is properly staffed, and reflects the heart and values of the church.

This is a full-time position, working approximately 40 hours/week, with a schedule that includes normal business hours Monday – Friday. This position may also require some non-traditional hours, occasional nights, and special events. This position reports directly to the Executive Assistant to Lead Pastors.

  • Support guests through basic questions, forms, and next steps

Bookstore Lead – Daily Oversight & Execution

  • Serve as the Bookstore Lead for daily execution and Sunday services
  • Ensure the bookstore is open, staffed, and functioning smoothly during designated hours
  • Provide front-facing service and support within the bookstore
  • Oversee point-of-sale activity and daily transactions
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate restocking needs
  • Maintain organization, cleanliness, and readiness of the bookstore
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for day-to-day bookstore needs

Sunday Bookstore Volunteer Team Leadership

  • Recruit, train, and schedule bookstore volunteers for Sunday services (both campuses)
  • Provide clear expectations and on-the-ground leadership
  • Foster a culture of hospitality, attentiveness, and excellence
  • Support and encourage volunteers through follow-up communication

Knowledge/Skills Required:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
